Photo Illustration
Over time I've come up with a series of techniques in PhotoShop to create illustrations from photos. I use the stock filters, multiple layers, textures and brushes to create a painterly effect. This series below uses a sepia tone look which helps to give the work more of an organic feel.

Mug Shot Photo Illustration
In this series of designs the goal was to create a pop art feel reminiscent of Andy Warhol works from the 50s and 60s. The mug shot photos were public domain images from the web and served as the source for channel-extracting pieces of the original black and white in order to isolate the levels of contrast used for specific features like the eyes, hair, clothing, etc. Then using primary and secondary level colors I laid down bold backgrounds and created halftones to give the images a printed look.
